My Rescue Journey - CHEHEK Charitable Trust

My journey started from a very young age, not as a professional, but as someone who simply could not ignore pain.

Whenever I saw an injured bird lying helpless on the ground, something inside me refused to walk away. I did not have medical knowledge, proper resources, or support in the beginning, but I had compassion, and that was enough to take the first step.

What started as small efforts slowly turned into a mission.

Over the past 8 years, I have rescued and treated more than 2000 injured birds and many squirrels. From birds falling during storms, heatwaves, kite flying injuries, to baby squirrels separated from their mothers, every life mattered, and every rescue taught me something new.

There were moments of happiness when a healed bird flew back into the sky, and there were painful moments when some could not survive despite all efforts. Those losses broke me, but they also made me stronger and more determined.

I am not a veterinarian, but I never gave up on my dream to help these voiceless souls.

With the support of my mother, I took a bigger step and registered CHEHEK Charitable Trust (Delhi). My vision now is to establish a proper bird rehabilitation center where injured birds can receive the care they truly deserve.

This journey has not been easy. Lack of resources, space, and awareness are still big challenges, but I continue every single day because these innocent lives depend on us.

Every rescue is not just an act of help, it is a promise that they are not alone.
